On May 16, China Mobile mCloud announced a price cut of up to 60% on its official WeChat account, becoming the first operator cloud to announce a price cut.

In terms of hardware, China Mobile mCloud stated that it will cut the price of general entry-level cloud servers and general network-optimized cloud servers by 60%. In terms of data security, the cloud security center and cloud disk backup will be discounted by 50%.

"All the above discounts are limited-time offers. During the effective period of the promotion from the 17th to the 31st, users can receive coupons to enjoy the above discounts, and the validity period of the coupons is 90 days," said China Mobile mCloud.

It is worth noting that the prices of cloud service providers have been declining in recent years, and Tencent Cloud and Alibaba Cloud's "largest price cut in history" announced earlier also shows that the competition in the cloud computing market is becoming increasingly fierce.

On April 23, IDC released the "China's Public Cloud Service Market (2022 H2) Tracking" report. The report shows that in the IaaS and IaaS+PaaS market competition landscape in the second half of 2022, Alibaba Cloud, Huawei Cloud, China Telecom Tianyi Cloud, Tencent Cloud, and AWS are the top five in the market ranking.

From the perspective of ranking changes, operators have further advanced in the cloud market ranking.

According to IDC data, in 2022, China Mobile mCloud ranked sixth in the public cloud (laaS+PaaS) service market share, with a year-on-year growth rate of 104%.
