Starbucks and Gaode Map have recently launched a new service called "On-the-Go" in Beijing, with nearly 50 stores in Shanghai trialing the service.

The service is expected to be available in more than 1,000 stores nationwide in a year.

The "On-the-Go" service is designed specifically for commuters who are driving. After setting their destination and route, users can order their coffee via the built-in Starbucks Mini Program in Gaode Map.

The system will automatically locate the most suitable Starbucks store, match the estimated arrival time with the time for coffee making, and then notify the store.

When the store receives the order, it will also receive the estimated arrival time of the user. After the coffee is made, the store will arrange a staff member to wait on the roadside to hand the coffee to the car owner without the need to get out of the car.

Statistics show that the number of motor vehicles in China in 2022reached 417 million, with 319 million cars and 502 million motor vehicle drivers, of which 464 million are car drivers.

The "On-the-Go" service provides a great convenience to commuters, reducing their operational and decision-making costs, while also increasing the convenience of coffee consumption. It also provides a great opportunity for Starbucks to activate potential consumption.
