Oct. 25 (NBD) -- The 12th EU-China Business and Technology Cooperation Fair kicked off in Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan Province in Southwest China. It aims to achieve comprehensive cooperation in the fields of investment, trade and technology between China and EU under Belt and Road Initiative.

The fair attracts delegates from 35 EU countries and others along the Belt and Road, and they engage in energy conservation and environmental protection, new energy and new materials, ICT, intelligent manufacturing, trade, cooperation in scientific research and other fields.

"One-to-one negotiation, face-to-face communication" remains the feature of the fair. "It is expected to hold more than 1,000 negotiations," said the related person in charge.

The EU-China Business and Technology Cooperation Fair has become an important platform to promote the internationalization of enterprises from central and western China as well as economic and technological exchanges among countries and regions.

At the fair, the representatives from 17 European institutions and enterprises inked the agreement of intent to set up businesses in Business and Innovation Center for China-Europe Cooperation (CCEC) in Chengdu.

In May this year, CCEC, which is the first integrated service platform for China-EU cooperation, was set up in the Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone, becoming the permanent site to hold EU-China Business and Technology Cooperation Fair and a new window for cooperation between China's western areas and Europe.
