CHENGDU, Jan. 16 (NBD) -- Chiefs of public security bureaus nationwide called for deepened reform of the household registration system at a meeting last Saturday, expecting relaxed requirements for settlement. 

They also urged the government to release the regulations on the administration of foreigners' permanent residence and simplify the application for permanent resident permits.
