CHENGDU, Dec. 14 (NBD) -- Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) is expected to be the world's second busiest airport in terms of passenger volume for seven consecutive years as it has already received more than 90 million passengers so far this year.

BCIA has made the breakthrough by increasing 10 million passengers within four years. In 2012, the passenger throughput at BCIA exceeded 80 million for the first time, with 83.50 million in 2013, 86.13 million in 2014 and 89.94 million in 2015.

Officer from BCIA expressed his gratitude to passengers, airlines and all the staff who contribute to the airport.

Providing routes to 140 domestic destinations and 132 cities in countries and regions, BCIA also maintains sister ties with 33 international airports.

As the largest airport nationwide, the Capital Airport devotes itself to the construction of international airport hub.

Due to the measurement of Beijing 72-hour Visa-free Transit policy, the number of visa-free transit passengers increase by 32% this year.

The growth rate of overseas passengers number is three times than that of domestic passengers number with overseas passengers accounting for 26%.

In order to build hub network, BCIA cooperates with airlines and start Beijing-Shanghai and Beijing-Hangzhou regular routes.

Based on the success of domestic regular routes, BCIA, Frankfurt Airport and Air China jointly signed an "international regular airline" agreement.

"International regular airline" will bring more convenience to passengers by establishing identification and service facilities. Regular airlines to North America will be opened when fully prepared.
