During the event, XPeng’s Chairman and CEO, He Xiaopeng, delivered a speech and reflected on the company’s journey. He emphasized that while it might have seemed like a fantasy for internet entrepreneurs to start a car company in 2014, he firmly believed that intelligence would bring significant changes to the automotive industry, making it the future’s biggest trend.

He Xiaopeng shared that XPeng’s first car faced many challenges, leading them to reinvest ¥428 million to redesign it. In 2019, a particularly tough year for new car manufacturers, He personally invested $200 million to support the company’s growth. He highlighted that even during the hardest times, XPeng never laid off its intelligent driving team, stressing that persistence and focus are crucial for a team’s success.

Looking ahead, He Xiaopeng predicted that in the next decade, only seven major car brands might remain in China. He believes that the market share of fuel vehicles will continue to decline, while the AI wave will rise more fiercely and last longer than the mobile internet wave. XPeng aims to become the best AI car company and plans to explore five key areas: AI cars, AI robots, AI chips, AI large models, and flying cars. He also announced the successful tape-out of XPeng’s Turing chip, the world’s first AI chip with a 40-core processor designed for L4 autonomous driving, boasting three times the computing power of existing chips.

The MONA M03, which took four years and ¥4 billion to develop, is available in three versions: the 580 Long Range Max at ¥155,800, the 620 Long Range at ¥129,800, and the 515 Long Range at ¥119,800. The car features five exterior colors and three interior color options, with dimensions of 4780mm in length, 1896mm in width, and 1445mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2815mm. It has a drag coefficient of 0.194, making it the world’s lowest for a mass-produced electric hatchback. The car is equipped with 140kW and 160kW motors, paired with 51.8/62.2kWh lithium iron phosphate batteries, offering a CLTC range of 515/620km and an energy consumption of just 11.5kWh per 100km. The Max version with advanced intelligent driving features will be delivered after the 2025 Chinese New Year.

Prominent figures like Lei Jun from Xiaomi, Jensen Huang from NVIDIA, Yu Chengdong from Huawei, Joe Tsai from Alibaba, Zhou Hongyi from 360, Zeng Qinghong from GAC, and Li Bin from NIO sent their congratulations to XPeng on its 10th anniversary. Lei Jun even visited XPeng’s Guangzhou headquarters to congratulate them and test drive the MONA M03, wishing it great success in the market.
