On July 31, the list of the top 4 teams in the men's and women's table tennis team events at the 31st FISU World University Games was announced. The Chinese team lived up to expectations and achieved a complete victory, easily advancing with a 3-0 score in both events.

The day before, during the Chengdu FISU World Conference on Education, Ding Ning, the Olympic champion in table tennis and deputy team leader of the Chinese delegation for the Universiade table tennis event, expressed her wishes to the young players in an interview with National Business Daily (NBD).

She said, "When facing the test of international competitions, we should maintain the right mindset, focus on the game, and play well in every match." She also emphasized that young people should explore the world more and use platforms like this to understand each other and strengthen communication. This is the significance of hosting the World University Games.

"Winning medals is definitely our main goal, but we also hope that the athletes can enjoy the process of the competition." In Ding Ning's eyes, the Universiade is a large-scale comprehensive sports event that is different from single-event competitions. The experience of young people participating in it is precious and is a valuable asset in their growth process.

Ding Ning admitted that, although she has participated in many international competitions as an athlete, she has not participated in the Universiade, which is still her regret. Today, she can return to the field as a deputy leader, which is very wonderful. "Although the identity has changed, but to be able to return to the familiar field, and also see many familiar athletes, staff, still very intimate." She told NBD.

Back on the field, Ding Ning also met more international friends who had competed on the same stage before. Sports is a common love for each other, and everyone is gathered because of love, and naturally gets close and communicates.

Ding Ning said that competition is only one important aspect of sports, but it is more important for everyone to communicate, learn and improve together. "Young people should see more of the world, and on such a platform, understand and strengthen each other, which is the meaning of hosting the World Universiade."

Ding Ning believes that the Universiade in Chengdu is the best opportunity for the world to know Chengdu. She mentioned that Chengdu is a very inclusive city, with a rich culture and delicious food, and people from different industries and fields can find a comfortable role that suits them here.

"I believe that these college students from all over the world will come back to Chengdu with their families and friends next time, not for the competition, but to appreciate the scenery and culture of Chengdu together." added Ding Ning.
