April 18 (NBD) -- Xpeng Motors on Tuesday released its new medium-sized SUV, the Xiaopeng G6 at the 2023 Shanghai International Auto Show.

As the first model based on Xpeng Motors' SEPA2.0 “Fuyao” architecture, G6 will feature the EV maker's latest technologies in intelligent systems, power regeneration, and smart manufacturing.

Specifically, G6 will be equipped with the XNGP intelligent assisted driving system. So far, Xpeng Motors has opened up NGP functions for users in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, marking the official opening of XNGP’s first phase capabilities. XNGP’s second phase of capabilities is scheduled to be released in the second half of this year.

G6 is equipped with Xmart OS 4.0 intelligent system, which supports full-scene voice 2.0 function and can respond in milliseconds. In addition, it adopts once-piece casting and CIB battery chassis integration technology.

According to previous reports, G6 will be launched and delivered in the second quarter of this year.

It is worth mentioning that Xpeng Motors previously stated that the SEPA 2.0 Fuyao architecture used by G6 can shorten the development cycle of new models by 20%, and the highest rate of parts commonality based on architecture can reach 80%.

Xpeng Motors will have about 10 models released in the near future with better quality and lower costs,” said He Xiaopeng, chairman and CEO of Xiaopeng Motors.

Official data shows that from January to March 2023, Xpeng Motors delivered a total of 18,200 new cars. Among them, in March, Xpeng Motors delivered 7,002 new cars, an increase of 17% month-on-month.
