According to the China Sharing Economy Development Report (2023) recently released by the State Information Center, the sharing economy market reached about 3.832 trillion yuan last year, representing an increase of about 3.9% year on year.
The report shows that the imbalance in sharing economy development in different fields is prominent.
The market scale of life services and sharing medical care increased by 8.4% and 8.2% year on year respectively, with growth rates increasing by 2.6 and 1.7 percentage points respectively compared to the previous year, showing a sustained and rapid development trend.
Due to various complex factors including the epidemic, the market scale of sharing space, sharing accommodation and sharing mobility has declined significantly by 37.7%, 24.3% and 14.2% year on year, respectively.
Meanwhile, the report shows that in 2022, the direct financing scale in the sharing economy field was about 13.2 billion yuan, representing a sharp drop of 93.8% year on year.
However, China's policy environment for sharing economy development will be better in future.
The national and regional governments have been paying great attention to the role of new forms of sharing economy in the development of digital economy.
In the "Outline of Strategic Plan for Expanding Domestic Demand (2022-2035)", it is clearly stated that it is necessary to "promote development of new forms of consumption such as sharing economy."
