Feb. 3 (NBD) -- According to data revealed by the National Bureau of Statistics of China on February 2, 19 provinces in China had per capita disposable incomes over 30,000 yuan last year, with seven surpassing 40,000 yuan, and Shanghai and Beijing nearly reaching the 80,000 yuan mark. In terms of growth rate, the central and western regions saw the fastest growth.
The National Bureau of Statistics of China previously released figures on January 17, that showed the nation’s per capita disposable income in 2022 was expected to be 36,883 yuan, a nominal increase of 5.0 percent year-on-year, and an actual increase of 2.9 percent after adjusting for inflation.
According to the data, Shanghai topped the list with a per capita disposable income of 79,610 yuan, closely followed by Beijing at 77,415 yuan.
Following Shanghai and Beijing were Zhejiang (60,302 yuan), Jiangsu (49,862 yuan), Tianjin (48,976 yuan), Guangdong (47,065 yuan), Fujian (43,118 yuan) and Shandong (37,560 yuan). These eight provinces had a per capita disposable income higher than the national average in 2022.
The seven provinces mentioned before had a per capita disposable income over 40,000 yuan.
The "30,000 yuan ladder" included as many as 12 provinces and municipalities, from Shandong at eighth place to Shaanxi at nineteenth, with Shandong residents having a per capita disposable income of 37,560 yuan, higher than the national average.
