June 8 (NBD) -- Shanghai Oriental Pearl Group Co., Ltd. ("Oriental Pearl", 600637.SH), a provider of internet services, announced on Thursday its partnership with Alibaba Group's cloud computing arm Alibaba Cloud.

The tie-up is aimed to combine Oriental Pearl's prowess in inter-city Internet of Things and neural networks with Alibaba Cloud's strengths in cloud computing and artificial intelligence to build Shanghai a smart and connected city by establishing networks, platforms, applications, an ecological system and so on and so forth. The effort will help Shanghai achieve delicacy management in the city.

The partnership between the two sides will not exclude possibilities including jointly constructing industrial parks and setting up industrial funds, according to the announcement.
