CHENGDU, Feb. 24 (NBD) -- The 2017 Chengdu Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair will be held from May 9 to 12 in Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province.

The three-day event is expected to draw more than 500 participants from home and abroad, including government leaders, Nobel Prize winners, academicians and world-renowned scientists, university presidents, diplomats, entrepreneurs and investors.

First introduced in 2015, the fair aims to become an international platform that gathers global innovation and entrepreneurship resources, also boosts the exchange of innovative ideas and the transaction of innovative achievements.

The 2016 Chengdu Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair drew more than 450 delegates from 36 countries and regions. Some 3000 deals worth 16 billion yuan (about 2.33 billion US dollars) were signed on the fair.
