Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, is one of China’s most attractive investment destinations, according to a ranking list released at the Lively China Forum in Beijing on Monday.

Sponsored by the Global Times, the forum focused on the specialties of Chinese cities.

According to the list, Chengdu ranked among the top three most attractive investment destinations along with Tianjing and Ningbo cities.

Pang Wenzhong, deputy director of the Chengdu investment office, attended the forum and shared Chengdu’s experiences in attracting investment.

Pang pointed out in his speech that Chengdu aims to construct itself into a central city of China. “As the economic center of west China, Chengdu’s non-government investment saw a year-on-year increase of 14.5 percent in 2016,” said Pang.

The Wenjiang district, a satellite town west of downtown Chengdu, is a shining example of a good living and business environment as a result of sound planning by local authorities for urban construction and economic development. It is a promising land for investors. There are strong industries in Wenjiang that investors won’t want to miss.
