CHENGDU, Jan. 5 (NBD) -- Hainan government was once troubled by water pollution and waste disposal. Over the recent several years, Hainan adopts Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode to improve the governance of environment and people's livelihood.

According to Xinhua report, 22 projects have been enlisted in the national PPP demonstration projects by China's Ministry of Finance since 2015. Those projects cover municipal construction, water affairs, eco-environment protection, health care, technology, energy and other sectors. As of late Dec. 2016, 48 projects have been signed and landed in Hainan province.

According to Wang Huiping, deputy director of Department of Finance of Hainan, those projects attracted a total investment of 44.2 billion yuan (6.38 billion US dollars), mainly used in water environment governance, waste disposal, road transport, water conservancy construction as well as medical technology.
