CHENGDU, Dec. 23 (NBD) -- China will carry out 15 new mega water projects with a total investment exceeding 90 billion yuan (about 12.9 billion US dollars) in 2017, according to the country's Ministry of Water Resources. 

Statistics shows by December 10th, the completion rate of Mega water projects in 2016 has reached 89.9%.

Hu Xingdou, the Economics professor of Beijing Institute of Technology, said that with every one trillion yuan (about 143.9 billion US dollars) investment brings three trillion yuan (about 431.71 billion US dollars) output, the huge investment in the construction of water project next year would facilitate the country's economy growth.
