Xiaomi has unveiled a new humanoid robot at its April 27 Investor Day, marking its most significant robotics showcase since CyberOne in 2022.

The updated robot retains a similar humanoid design but features a key upgrade in its “dexterous hands,” demonstrated through tasks such as handing out bags and making hand gestures during live interaction with attendees.

Unlike earlier demonstrations, the new model reflects deeper progress in real-world application. Xiaomi executives noted that its robotics program has been in development for 5–6 years, with recent breakthroughs enabling factory deployment.

According to company disclosures, Xiaomi robots have already begun trial operations in EV manufacturing scenarios, including autonomous tasks such as screw installation and material handling. The system can operate independently for up to three hours, achieve a success rate above 90% in certain tasks, and meet a production cycle of 76 seconds per station.

This capability is powered by two core technologies: a tactile-driven dexterous hand system and a vision-language-action (VLA) model known as “Xiaomi-Robotics-0.”

Xiaomi emphasized that current deployments remain early-stage, with mass production and broader industrial use still requiring time, while more robotics developments are expected to be revealed throughout the year.
