Wang Ning, founder of POP MART, has responded to accusations of "hunger marketing," stating the company is working hard to meet overwhelming demand for its popular LABUBU figures.
"We're selling 10 million LABUBU figures a month," Wang Ning said. "LABUBU has exploded into a world-class IP, and demand truly exceeds our supply chain's growth."
He emphasized the company's efforts to ramp up production while maintaining quality: "Our sewing machines are practically smoking! We're increasing capacity every month, doubling it this month compared to last, and expecting significant further increases next month. We're only doubling, not tenfold, because we want to maintain strict quality control."
Wang Ning also revealed that Hollywood and other renowned film companies are interested in making a LABUBU movie. POP MART is currently considering whether to produce it themselves or collaborate with Hollywood, and what form the project might take.
