On April 28, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers announced that 76 models from six companies, including BYD, Li Auto, Lotus, Neta Auto, Tesla, and NIO, met requirements for automotive data security. Specifically, Tesla's China-produced Model 3 and Model Y are also compliant with automotive data security regulations, making it the only foreign company to do so.

According to Yicai, Tesla has stated that restrictions on driving and parking of intelligent connected vehicles such as Tesla have been progressively lifted in various locations. Additionally, Tesla did not provide details regarding Elon Musk’s itinerary for his visit to China.

However, based on Musk's previous statements on social media, it is anticipated that his visit will promote the implementation of Full Self-Driving (FSD) software in China, and address issues related to cross-border data transmission permissions for autonomous driving.
