Feb.23 (NBD) -- Recently, a video "transporting wind turbine blades on a cliff in Liangshan, Sichuan province" went viral on the Internet, triggering heated discussions among many netizens as it is like a special effect in a movie scene.

It is learned that the giant wind turbine blade is 75 meters long, weighing more than ten or twenty tons.

Wind power plants are usually built on high mountains, and the trailers carrying the wind turbine blades have to pass through rugged mountain roads or villages, posing a great challenge to transportation workers.

It is learned that it takes half a month to take the wind turbine to the destination as the truck has to turn over one hundred sharp turns.

The lifting truck is characterized by the rotor which can rotate 360 degrees and can lift goods at 60 degrees. During the transportation, the operator sits on the work chair at the rear of the truck, holding the walkie-talkie to communicate with the driver in real-time, and paying close attention to the passage of the blades.

The driver, with superb driving skills, keeps an eye on the front and rearview mirrors and pays close attention to the obstacle clearance on the left and right sides of the road.

In addition, wind turbine builders have to overcome extreme cold, high-altitude hypoxia, strong winds, and snowstorms.

At present, Liangshan Prefecture has the highest installed capacity of wind power in Sichuan Province, China.
