Feb.22 (NBD) -- OFO, a Chinese bike-sharing company, made the headline on Weibo on Wednesday after its mobile app users were unable to log in or receive verification codes.

This has resulted in a huge public outcry, with users taking to social media to express their anger. Some have even claimed that their deposits have beenlost forever.

Founded in 2014, OFO had been one of the first bike-sharing companies in China, providing over 40 million rides across 22 cities and 200 universities. However, the company has been struggling financially in recent years and has been unable to refund deposits for its users.

The situation has become so dire that OFOs official customer service phone line is no longer in service, and its office phone has been shut down.

Most recently, it attempted to encourage users to invite their friends to get their deposits back quicker, prompting more criticism.
