According to the latest financial report, 15 international cosmetics giants achieved a total sales of 920 billion yuan in 2022, just one step away from breaking the trillion-yuan mark.

Among them, L'Oreal contributed more than 30% of the total sales by itself, with a sales volume of 278.35 billion yuan, twice as much as the second-placed Estee Lauder.

However, some cosmetic giants are troubled by weakened profitability.

Last year, Estee Lauder's operating profit decreased by 36%, Shiseido's decreased by 53.7% and LG Household & Health's decreased by 64.7%.

Behind the financial report, some new trends are emerging. For example, Shiseido's Chinese market is the company's largest market, but its sales in China decreased by 6% year-on-year to 13.42 billion yuan and its operating profit was in the red by 200 million yuan.

In addition, LG Household & Health's performance has declined for the first time in 18 yearsThe overall sales data of the cosmetics industry is impressive, but it is also necessary to pay attention to the profitability of individual companies.
