Feb.13 (NBD) -- The Chinese rescue team pulled another survivor from the rubble of a collapsed building in the southern Turkish city of Antakya, after a joint effort with Turkish rescue forces that lasted more than four hours.

The survivor was located in a residential building that had been reduced to rubble following the earthquake that struck Turkey on February 10th.

The survivor, a man in his thirties, was buried beneath the rubble and unable to move his left leg. However, he was able to see the light coming through the debris. With the help of the Chinese and Turkish rescue teams, he was successfully extricated from the rubble at 3:30 pm local time, on Feb 12.

The Chinese Red Cross has also provided humanitarian aid to the victims of the earthquake in Syria. The second shipment of relief supplies, including tents, aid packages, warm clothing and medical supplies, was dispatched from Beijing at 5:55 am on February 13th.

The supplies will benefit more than 10,000 people affected by the disaster.

The first shipment of medical supplies from the Chinese Red Cross has already been delivered to the Syrian Red Cross Society and put to use in the affected areas.
