On February 1st, several BMW dealers revealed that some models of BMW are seeing a price hike.

According to reports, BMW has increased the MSRPs (manufacturer's suggested retail price) of some models as of February 1st, with a range of 2,000 yuan to 20,000 yuan. Models affected include the 2 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series, X1, X3, X4, X5, i3, i4, and iX3, with most of them being fuel vehicles.

In response, a BMW source in China stated that due to inflation, rising costs of raw materials and logistics, and supply shortages worldwide, some BMW models in China will see an increase in MSRPs starting from February 1st, 2023. It is worth noting that the source stated the price hike mainly affects BMW fuel vehicles, as well as BMW's new energy electric vehicles.

Reporters found in field visits that after the news was released, the number of calls to visit the store and see cars did not decrease but increased noticeably compared to usual.

"There have been a lot of customers coming to the store and asking if there's a price increase," a salesperson at a BMW 4S store in Beijing told reporters. "The price adjustment notice we received only applies to the MSRPs and some models still have a pretty big discount. For example, the BMW 5 Series long-wheelbase version now has a discount of over 70,000 yuan."

BMW increased prices twice in 2022. On April 12th, 2022, BMW adjusted the prices of five models - the 3 Series, X3, X4, 4 Series, and Z4 by 1,600~11,000 yuan. In June of the same year, BMW increased the MSRPs of some domestic and imported models, with a range of 1,000~10,100 yuan.
