Dec. 19 (NBD) -- On Thursday, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released the first batch of apps infringing upon users' rights and interests.

Tencent's QQ and QQ Reading, Sina Sports, Xiaomi Finance, 36Kr and 36 other apps were on the list. All these apps are requested to complete rectification by December 31, otherwise the MITT would take corresponding actions in accordance with laws and regulations.

It is noteworthy that back on November 6, the regulator announced a special rectification action, aiming at cracking down on apps service providers and distribution service providers' infringement of users rights in ways including illegal collection and use of user personal information, unreasonable request for user permission, unreasonable obstacles for account cancellation and four other types of outstanding problems.
