The second Beijing International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Young Pianists will be held between Oct. 19 and Nov. 2 in Beijing.

The event, hosted by the Central Conservatory of Music, is open to young pianists aged from 12 to 26 from all around the world, and contestants will be categorized into senior and junior groups, said the organizer.

The tracks, rules and judges of the Beijing competition are in line with those of the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition held in Warsaw, Poland, where the international competition originated from, according to the organizer.

The Beijing competition held every three years first took place in 2016, and its winners will enter the Warsaw competition.

Inaugurated in 1927, the Warsaw event is one of the most prestigious music competitions in the world.
