July 11 (NBD) -- China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (“Sinopec”, 600028.SH) announced Wednesday that the company and its controlling shareholder Sinopec Group will set up a joint venture (JV) with a registered capital of 10 billion yuan (1.5 billion U.S. dollars).

The JV will focus on investment in strategic emerging industries, including new energy, new material, environmental protection and smart manufacturing.
