Chinese telecommunication giant Huawei Technologies Co launched an OpenLab for North Africa in Egypt on Tuesday to work on digital transformation with industry alliances and partners in the region, the Xinhua News Agency reported.

Huawei made the announcement at the CAIRO ICT 2017 exhibition. The investment for phase one of the OpenLab is more than 2 million U.S. dollars, and it will cover more than 400 square meters, according to Xinhua.

The lab is expected to expand to more than 1,000 square meters within two years, the report said.
