Oct. 16 (NBD) -- Southwestern China's Chengdu city will build a service industry research institute together with University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), according to a strategic cooperation agreement signed last Friday.

The institute is to serve as a platform to carry out study on the development of the service industry, open economy, new economy, new finance, and other sectors in Chengdu.

In addition, the Beijing-based university, under the terms of the agreement, will provide strategic decision and planning consulting services concerning the construction of the pilot free trade zone to the southwestern city.

The two parties will also collaborate on the research of significant system innovation as well as the building of international parks, and host innovation and entrepreneurial activities relating to innovative talent introduction, coordinative innovation between universities and enterprises, and construction of innovative bases.

Moreover, they will conduct exchanges about talent training and construction of social practice bases.
