Hong Kong, Aug. 24 (NBD) -- Chengdu, the capital of southwest China's Sichuan province, signed 14 cultural creativity projects with Hong Kong at The Sichuan-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation Week in Hong Kong & Promotion Conference of Chengdu Building a Cultural Creativity Center in Western China, which was held in Hong Kong on August 24.

These deals are worth a total of 19.646 billion U.S. dollars. 

Of them, there are three culture, sports, and tourism projects valued at 9.48 billion U.S. dollars in total, three media, film & TV projects at 460 million U.S. dollars, one cultural tourism and rehabilitation project at 1.799 billion U.S. dollars, one cultural creativity and technology project at 1.6 billion U.S. dollars, one entertainment project at 187 million U.S. dollars, one cultural creativity project at 120 million U.S. dollars, two cultural creativity and tourism projects at 6 billion U.S. dollars, and two other projects. 

Fan Ruiping, Member of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Chengdu Municipal Party Committee, told NBD in a recent interview that Hong Kong holds a pivotal position in the international cultural creativity industry as many cultural trends are transmitted from the special administrative region to mainland China. Through the cooperation with Hong Kong-based cultural creativity enterprises, Chengdu is expected to make a big splash in the international markets.
