CHENGDU, Aug. 16 (NBD) -- An airport express line and a second tramway are expected to be put into use in Southwestern China's Chengdu municipality in September and next year respectively, a senior executive of Chengdu Rail Transit Group Co. Ltd (CRTG) revealed on Tuesday.

Rao Yong, Vice General Manager of CRTG said in an interview that on Wednesday the first phase of Metro Line 10, or airport express line, would receive experts' evaluation of the basic condition of trial operation, the last lap before it being put into fully trial operation.

The line 10 of the Chengdu Metro runs from Wuhou District to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport/Xinjin County. The first phase starts at Taipingyuan and ends at Airport T2.

The first 13.7km of "sightseeing trip" of the city's tram Rong Line 2 is ensured to be put into operation next year, according to Li Chengyong, deputy director of PPP Project Management Centre at CRTG.

The tram Rong Line 2, whose construction started in December 2015, comprises a 27.7km main line with 33 stops from Chengdu West railway station to Pidu district via Xinye Road and an 11.6 km branch from Xinye Road to Renhe village with 14 stops.

The phase of "sightseeing trip" is between the main line, with 14 stations from Hexin Road to Chenguang Station.
