CHENGDU, Aug. 3 (NBD) -- The 5th China (Mianyang) Science & Technology City International Hi-tech Expo is to kick off on September 7th in Mianyang, some 120 km away from Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, according to a press conference on China (Mianyang) Sci-Tech City Construction held on Wednesday in Beijing.

Co-organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China and Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, the event is themed with "Military Civilian Integration·Sci-Tech Innovation·Opening Up and Cooperation".

Israel has been invited as the Guest Country of Honor for this year's High-Tech Expo.

The series activities for Guest Country of Honor include Sino-Israel Innovation Cooperation Achievement Exhibition, Sino-Israel Innovation Cooperation Forum, High-Tech Industrial Docking and so on at the Israeli national image hall. Meanwhile, the cooperation platform between Israel and Western China, Sichuan and Mianyang Sci-Tech City will be built to strengthen cooperation foundation, promote cooperation projects, and achieve mutual benefits and joint development.

During last year’s 2016 High-Tech Expo, a total of 444 agreements worth a total of 7.3 billion yuan (about 1.09 billion U.S. dollars) was signed.
