CHENGDU, Aug. 2 (NBD) -- Chengdu city, the capital of southwestern China's Sichuan province, has reported a half-yearly tourist arrival of 93.83 million, a 5.2 per cent up from 89.19 million reported at the same time last year.

In the six months to June 30, 2017, the income of Chengdu's tourism totaled 129.51 billion yuan (about 19.3 billion U.S. dollars), an increase of 19.91 per cent over the same period in 2016, according to 
the Operational Analysis and Scheduling Meeting for Sichuan provincial tourism industry.

The number of nights that Chinese domestic tourists spent in went up by 10.45 per cent, reaching 34.05 million nights, with a total tourism income of 125.7 billion yuan (about 18.7 billion U.S. dollars).
