According to Shanghai government press conference held yesterday, the proportion of Shanghai port trade volume for China and the world is steadily increasing in recent years.

Shanghai port trade volume has exceeded traditional international trade centers including Hong Kong and Singapore.

In 2016, the import and export value of Shanghai port cargos has been up to 6.882 trillion yuan (1.0 trillion U.S. dollars), accounting for 28.3% in China and more than 3% in the world. The service import and export value has increased from 129.3 billion yuan (18.8 billion U.S. dollars) in 2011 to 201.9 billion yuan (29.4 billion U.S. dollars) in 2016, which accounts for 25% in China and over 2% in the world.
