Giant Panda National Park System Pilot Plan has been published to protect the biodiversity and Sichuan will enhance the establishment of the giant panda national park system.

According to the plan, the total area of the national park is 27,134 square kilometers and the park will be divided into Minshan Area, Qionglai Mountain-Daxiangling Area, Qinling Mountains Area and Baishui River Area in terms of the distribution and other situations of giant pandas.

The two park areas in Sichuan cover 20,177 square kilometers, accounting for 74.4% of the whole national park area.
