The Chongqing Municipality is planning to add 300,000 high-skilled workers by 2020, according to a government plan recently released by the city.

By 2020, it will bring in 500 overseas high-level technicians, 5,000 urgently- needed high-skilled workers, and train 50,000 to become high-skilled workers meeting the job requirement.

Moreover, it will also train 2000 Chinese to become master craftsmen with global perspective and commanding the world-class technical standards through international exchanges.

An official of the Chongqing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau said that the implementation of the government plan will accelerate the construction of Chongqing City to become an important modern manufacturing base, an important domestic functional financial center, the western innovation center and the inland open highlands.
