Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. is planning to increase its annual engine production capacity from the current 500,000 units to 750,000 units by 2020, said a source with the company. 

The carmaker's vehicle production capacity will be expanded from 300,000 cars to 500,000 cars per year by then. 

The company delivered 32,783 cars in February, contributing to 90 percent of Mercedes-Benz's total sales in China. 

For the first two months of 2017, the auto manufacturer handed over 73,540 cars to customers, an increase of 57.88 percent as compared to 46,580 units a year ago. 

According to reports, Mercedes-Benz will introduce 15 new models in China. Among them include a number of locally-produced cars, such as the new GLA, E 180 L, GLC 200, and C 450 L.
