Southwest China's Chengdu city is projected to add at least five new direct internaitonal air routes this year, increasing the number of total international air routs from currently 93 to 98.
Alongside Ethiopian Airlines' new Addis Ababa service, the capital city of Sichuan province is aiming to launch regular direct fights to New York, Auckland, Djakarta and Rome. Meanwhile, it is also in pursuit of the launch of flights to Vancouver, New Delhi and Warsaw.
In 2016, Chengdu has launched the flight routes with ten international cities including Prague, Koh Samui, Madrid and Dubai, realizing double-digit growth.
