CHENGDU, March 1 (NBD) -- Beijing to host a forum on the China-led Belt and Road Initiative in May, which was announced by President Xi at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.
The Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiative, proposed by China in 2013, aims to build a trade and infrastructure network connecting Asia with Europe and Africa along the ancient trade routes.
Since then, over 100 countries and organizations have participated in this initiative, realizing Belt and Road blueprint step by step.
The Belt and Road forum to be held in May is the highest-profile of its kind. The aim is to discuss plans for cooperation and to build platform, searching for solutions to the problems facing the world and regional economy, injecting new momentum into this initiative and better benefiting people around the world.
