CHENGDU, Feb. 17 (NBD) -- The Old Town of Lijiang plans to give a strong boost to featured business items relating to ethnic culture, folk costume, and traditional Nakhi handicraft, in an effort to curb excessive commercialization and improve its tourism image.

It will ban singing bars, dance halls, cybercafes, electronics, and sauna and massage services, according to the exposure draft of the directory of business items released by the World Cultural Heritage Management Bureau of the Old Town of Lijiang.

Adjustments, however, will likely be made in accordance with actual conditions.

With regard to operations of restaurants, bars, and jewelry stores, there will be certain limitations.
