CHENGDU, Feb. 13 (NBD) -- Chinese smartphone producer Xiaomi is reportedly to sell in Indonesia mobile phones that are manufactured locally, as of the year of 2017.
According to IDC, Xiaomi's market share in China dropped to No. 5 with shipment volume in 2016 down by 36%, after Huawei, OPPO and VIVO.
The company's Indonesian plant is said to facilitate Xiaomi to tap the under-developed market in the country, where it will compete with other strong brands like Samsung, OPPO, ASUS and Lenovo, in the region.
