CHENGDU, Feb. 10 (NBD) -- The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2017, themed with “Globalization and Free Trade: The Asian Perspectives”, is to be held from March 23 to 26 in Boao, Hainan Province. The opening ceremony of the four-day events will be held on March 25.
The Annual Conference 2017 will invite six or seven heads of state/government (including one from the host country), as well as more than 80 international organization leaders and ministers of economic affairs, and provide opportunities for close interaction between business leaders and heads of state/government and ministers.
According to the Secretariat of the BFA, a total of 42 official sessions and 12 private sessions are planned during the conference which will be divided into four modules—globalization, growth, reform and new economy.
A more inclusive globalization will be the keynote of the Annual Conference. Following the opening ceremony, a plenary session will be added in the afternoon to convene prominent leaders from international organizations, business and academic communities to explore the issues of globalization.
The “One Belt, One Road” initiative will continue to be a key topic, around which two dialogues will be respectively held between state leaders and senior government officials, as well as between CEOs and ministers from China and those countries along the Belt and Road.
Other topics to be addressed at the Annual conference include Asian regional cooperation, the Doha Round, global value chain reconstruction and the Asia-Pacific free trade zone advocated by China.
