CHENGDU, Jan. 22 (NBD) -- China will have five to eight nonwovens and textiles industry clusters with turnover surpassing 10 billion yuan (1.46 billion US dollars) by 2020, according to a plan released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and National Development and Reform Commission for the development of nonwovens and industrial textiles during the 13th five-year plan period.

The country will also have three to five industrial textiles enterprises with international influence by then.

The development plan, meanwhile, urges companies along the upstream and downstream industry chains to extend the application of high-performance fiber, bio-based fiber, and industrial fiber as well as new functional materials like graphene and carbon nanotube.
