CHENGDU, Jan. 19 (NBD) -- The first batch of Nepalese rupee banknotes, produced by China Banknote Printing and Minting Corporation (CBPM), was shipped on Monday, from southeast China's Jiangxi Province.

CBPM has won a bid, last August, beating British and French companies, for an order to print 200 million Nepalese banknotes with denomination of 1,000 rupees. The shipment on Monday is the first lot of the order.

This marks a new beginning of Chinese technology in global banknote printing sector.
