CHENGDU, Jan.12 (NBD) -- The report of China big data house price index (BHPI) for December was jointly released by three affiliated institutions with Chinese Academy of Social Science on Tuesday.

According to the report, the median house price of 18 sample cities exceeds 10000 (1446.3 US dollars) yuan per square meter with Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen exceeding 40000 yuan (5787.3 US dollars) per square meter.

Yan Yuejin of E-house China R&D Institute told NBD that the growth of house prices is slowing down, but don't expect any significant drop. The BHPI report also shows that the growth of house prices in city suburbs is more vigorous than that of old downs.

Currently, the BHPI system only covers 33 major cities and 10 important districts of large cities. As an open house price index system based on big data technologies, it is expected to cover all Chinese cities in the future. The system mainly offers month-on-month growth rate, year-on-year growth rate, fixed base index and median house prices.
