CHENGDU, Jan. 9 (NBD) -- A total of 17 cities have been approved to be built into national e-commerce pilot cities, according to a circular jointly released by seven departments, including the National Development and Reform Commission. 

Among the cities include Dalian, Baotou, Haikou, Xining, Urumchi, Handan, Daqing, Heze, Chenzhen, Mianyang, Yuxi, Baoji, Longnan, and Wujiaqu. 

Pilot cities will place an emphasis on improvements of e-commerce laws and regulations and supporting facilities, construction of e-commerce infrastructure and transaction guarantee mechanisms, and building of new mechanisms suitable for e-commerce development, new models for e-commerce governance, and new systems for the fast and healthy development of the e-commerce market.
