CHENGDU, Dec. 27 (NBD) -- China will continue to improve internet speed and reduce its charges, accelerate the construction of a high-speed broadband network, accomplish the "last kilometer" for internet access, and quicken the 4G coverage in rural and remote areas, said Miao Wei, the Minister of Industry and Information Technology of China.

According to Miao, fiber access of 100 Mbps will be made available for all urban families and a broadband network will be built to cover another 8,000 poor villages in the coming year.
