On December 19, Ms. Li, who came to Chengdu on a business trip from Chongqing, got off at the Chengdu East Railway Station and went to the Pandauto Station, where she scanned the QR code of one of the new-energy vehicles using her mobile phone, and drove it away.

"The daily rental rate is just 99 yuan (about 14.3 US dollars) without any restriction on use and discount is offered for parking. It is very convenient for visitors to Chengdu! " The car rented by Ms. Li was an electric car operated by Pandauto, a Chinese smart car hailing platform for new energy vehicles which was put into operation in Chengdu in August. To locate its Sichuan headquarters in Chengdu's Jinjiang District, Pandauto will accelerate its pace to launch the vehicle rental service in cities and autonomous prefectures in the province. In 2017 alone, the company will put 3000 new-energy cars into service in Chengdu and 20,000 in Sichuan in the next 5 years.

The electric vehicle Lifan 330 EV has become very popular in Chengdu since it was put into operation in the city by Pandauto at the end of August. Currently, with more than 20,000 registered users, the company has had 52 leasing locations across the city, including those in the Chengdu East Railway Station, Shuangliu International Airport and lots of local tourist attractions.
