CHENGDU, Dec.21 (NBD) -- Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province, keeps its vitality in acting as the country's West Finance Center by attracting two more banks.

Suining Bank, based in Suining city in eastern Sichuan province, inaugurated its Chengdu branch last Sunday. It became Sichuan's fifth city commercial bank set up in Chengdu.

Great Wall West China Bank (GW Bank), renamed from its original Bank of Deyang, relocated its business center to Chengdu last week, designating both Chengdu and Deyang as operating centers.

An officer of Suining Bank said that the rapid development of Chengdu's Tianfu New Area and Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone has facilitated economic growth not only in Sichuan, but also the western region.

Officer of China Great Wall Asset Management Co. Ltd., strategic investor of GW Bank, pledged that GW Bank would reinforce its development in Chengdu and aim at building itself from a regional bank to a national bank in the future.
