CHENGDU, Dec. 20 (NBD) -- The emerging of bike sharing service is beneficial for bike manufacturing industry, Ma Zhensheng, the vice general manager of Tianjin Fushida Bicycle, told the NBD reporter in an exclusive interview.

The factory of Fushida in Tianjin is now making bikes for a bike share company called Yibu Bike.

When asked about his opinion about the prevailing idea that the development of bike sharing service will force some bicycle manufacturers to transform, Ma said, the development of bike share drives manufacturers to improve their existing production mode. He thought that many bike share companies are not actually catering to customers' needs. After a year, quite a number of bike share products will be weeded out.

He added, Chinese bicycle manufacturers didn't invest much in the research and manufacturing of bikes for commercial and rental use in the past. But over the past 4 to 8 years, manufacturers engaging in bike spare parts and finished bikes started to seek a new direction or a "new taste". Bike share, a "new taste", is a good product for global customers.

He concluded that the emerging of bike sharing service broadens the production range for bicycle manufacturers, which is a beneficial change.
