CHENGDU,Dec.14 (NBD) -- Shanghai topped the list of minimum monthly wages in China, with the amount stood at 2,190 yuan (about 320 U.S. dollars), followed by Shenzhen and Tianjin, according to a report released on Tuesday.

The report, evaluated before December by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, also showed that Beijing has the highest hourly minimum wage by lifting its standard to 21 yuan (about 3.04 U.S. dollars) per hour in this September.

Qinghai bottomed the list with its minimum monthly wage totaled 1270 yuan (about 183.92 US dollars).

China has required its municipal and provincial governments to adjust the minimum wage level at least once every two years, but only nine of 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland have raised the minimum wage this year, the report showed.
